Kindred Contributes to Disaster Relief for Hurricane Dorian

Kindred Credit Union is responding to the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian in The Bahamas and Canada by contributing a total of $2,500 to the Worldwide Foundation for Credit UnionsProject Storm Break and the Canadian division of Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS).

The Project Storm Break disaster relief fund officially launched just over one month ago in The Bahamas at the World Credit Union Conference. The Worldwide Foundation, the charitable fundraising arm of World Council of Credit Unions, is partnering with the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions to help affected credit unions provide members and staff with emergency supplies. The money will also enable credit unions to get back up and running quickly, providing needed cash and other financial services to their members.

Mennonite Disaster Service is the volunteer network of Anabaptist churches that responds to those affected by disasters in Canada and the United States. At this point, they are assessing the impact to the community and supporting emergency efforts through the Salvation Army of Canada.
