Kindred’s statement on anti-Black racism

In light of recent events highlighting police brutality against Black communities in the United States and Canada, we acknowledge and lament the embedded and complex systems of anti-Black racism.

We know that anti-Black racism also has less obvious expressions and patterns that many of us participate in and benefit from, whether we realize it or not. Financial systems can and have contributed to furthering oppression and marginalization.

We need to do better.

We are committed to learning about and addressing how these patterns manifest in our organization. We are committed to doing the work that integrates anti-oppression, including anti-racism, in our operations.

We stand in solidarity with Black communities in calling for an end to systemic injustice.
